Q:
Please tell CanWIT a bit about your role as CTO and how you got into the tech sector
A:
I am responsible for all technology related to systems. I am privileged to lead a large team of highly energized professionals who design, deliver and operate Canadian Tire systems across Canada. I started off in tech 33 years ago working for Nortel Networks and have been a "geek" all throughout my career. I always wanted to work in tech. Back then, the really interesting jobs were in companies like Nortel...so I actively worked to get a job there. Today technology touches all parts of modern enterprises and the job opportunities for young people in tech are essentially limitless.
CanWIT is looking for assistance with creative services-ideally from a full service agency for the 2014 year.

I’m back home! It’s been over 48 hours since I even saw a Gartner analyst, let alone hear them give a prediction or presentation. Often when I go to these types of conferences, I leave all enthusiastic Afterwards, in the cold light of the home environment, I wonder what the excitement was about. This Gartner conference was different. There were some important predictions and trends that need to be understood and watched. I’ll describe just three.
