An invitation to a conversation about Women in the HRM technology workforce
Did you know... Women make up only 19% of the technology workforce in Nova Scotia? And in most areas, women’s participation rate is less than 10%?
What's your story? What attracted you to this sector? How did you find a job? What keeps you working in technology?
What are your ideas? How can more women be encouraged to enter these fields? What is important for women to get and keep jobs in the sector?
Our focus? Women working in:
- ICT, software development and programming, systems development and analytics,
- Multimedia design and development,
- Engineering and aviation technologies, geomatics and other technology related positions.
- We welcome the perspectives of a diversity of women, including women who identify as African Canadian, Aboriginal and/or as a newcomer, with a (dis)ability, and/or as being a member of the GLBTIQ community.
Sharing your story helps us understand what works and what other supports and services are needed. We can use this information to improve access to learning and jobs for a diversity of women in the technology sector.
When? April 10, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM.
Where? Fairbanks Centre in Shubie Park, 54 Locks Rd, Dartmouth NS (Waverley Rd, left to Locks Rd.)
