The AGM is a great opportunity to join your peers to discuss CanWIT’s significant growth this year and to provide input on both current and future strategic goals for our organization going forward. We will begin the formal portion of the AGM with a financial review and strategic overview. Following the formal portion of the AGM, we will be showing a screening of “She ++,” an insightful documentary from Stanford University on the importance of encouraging women to join the technology sector. Dr. Laurelle Jno Baptiste, COO and co-Founder of ScholarLab will provide her feedback on the screening and also delve into the important subject of encouraging new immigrant women, in particular, into Canada’s tech sector. Women in Leadership Roundtable (June 4) – Finding Strength in Numbers for Women in Technology
Increasing the number of women in Canada’s tech sector is key to the success of Canada’s knowledge economy
90% of Canada’s economy and population are now overseen by women leaders; what will this significant change and others mean to the consultative process? How can we place this conversation within the context of Canada’s tech sector where the number of women working within it remains low (24%)?
Join the City of Waterloo’s Mayor, Brenda Halloran, and members of CanWIT’s National Advisory Council as they host this important roundtable discussion!
