For the second year in a row, CanWIT and Maple Leaf Angels are partnering to highlight the important role female-led technology companies and female Angel investors play in growing Ontario's innovation economy. Our collective aim is to showcase the strength of women led companies by giving our members an opportunity to invest in and support the next great women led Canadian technology company. This year we are also pleased to welcome Women in Capital Markets as an event partner.

We are looking to bring together the largest number of female angel investors that has ever attended an investment presentation of an angel investor group in Canada. 

We'll hear pitches from two exciting early-stage woman-led tech companies that are at, or close to, the point of commercialization in addition to a keynote address by Fariba Anderson.

About Fariba Anderson

Fariba's journey over the last 25 years in the technology sector is impressive both in terms of her achievements and the breadth of experience.

She has held a variety of CIO, SVP, VP, Executive Director and Director roles within the telecommunication, software, energy and management consulting sectors across Canada, US and Europe.  These organizations ranged from large public and private organizations to her own consulting firm.

In her current position as Chief Information Officer and Vice President Information Services at the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) she is the single point of accountability for all technology enabled investments and information services.

Fariba has been recognized as one of Canada's top 100 Women Entrepreneurs and recipient of University of Toronto Arbor Award. In 2011 she was shortlisted as one of Canada's Top 25 Immigrants.
